[Scholarship] 2026 BK21 Phase 4 Graduate Student Data Analysis Research Scholarship Recruitment (Application Deadline: July 3)
The Digital Information (디지털정보처) is recruiting scholarship recipients to participate in data analysis activities related to graduate school innovation. Graduate student researchers with an interest in data analysis are encouraged to apply.

Background

Enhancing graduate school innovation and strengthening the university’s competitiveness through analysis of accumulated institutional data
-
Providing more tailored support and educational/research services by analyzing student activities and segmenting student groups

Research Topics (Open Topic)
• Free-topic research utilizing various analytical methodologies, including literature reviews related to graduate school innovation and applications of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, statistics, and other data analysis techniques
• For the 2026 academic year, the use of recommendation algorithms is strongly encouraged
• Applicants may also propose topics relevant to graduate school innovation
Examples of Research Topics
• Personalized paper recommendation algorithms
• Personalized academic conference recommendation systems using external APIs
• Personalized university announcement recommendation algorithms
• Major-based job recommendation systems
• Extracurricular activity recommendation algorithms

Eligibility
• Graduate students participating in the BK21 Phase 4 program
• Students registered under completion research status are also eligible

Procedures and Schedule

Number of Selected Teams: 2 teams
• Team composition is flexible, though teams of 2–3 members are recommended -
Submission of Research Proposal
• Submit by July 3 via email to: dhchoi123@korea.ac.kr
• Use Form 1 provided in the attached guidelines
• Applicants should discuss data availability with the office in advance
• Submission of previous data analysis projects or portfolios is encouraged -
Announcement of Results
• Mid-July 2026 -
Research Period
• Approximately three months, from mid-July to mid-October 2026
• Attendance at least twice per month at the Data Analysis Community meetings is required to share research progress and receive feedback (approximately one hour per session)
• Meeting minutes must be prepared for research meetings, community sessions, and interim/final presentations
• Submission of both interim and final presentation materials is mandatory
• Interim and final presentations are expected during Weeks 6 and 12, respectively -
Final Research Report Submission
• Due within three months after the final presentation
• Approximately 20 pages (A4 format), though length may vary depending on the nature of the project
• Source code submission is required
• Teams must additionally submit a report specifying individual roles and contributions -
Scholarship Amount
• KRW 5,578,500 per team
• The final amount may be adjusted after consultation based on project difficulty and team size
• Scholarship funds will be awarded after submission of interim presentation materials, final presentation materials, the research report, and source code
• The amount may vary depending on the number of selected teams and participants

Applicants must confirm data availability directly with the Division of Digital Information before applying. Requests for unavailable data or additional cooperation will not be accommodated.

Any provided data will be anonymized.

Research progress will be evaluated through research meetings and Data Analysis Community activities. Teams receiving two or more warnings may be removed from the project, and no scholarship will be awarded in such cases.
