Recruitment of Mentors for the International Student Mentoring Program – Spring Semester 2025

The College of Health Science is recruiting mentors for the Spring Semester 2025 International Student Mentoring Program. We are seeking students who can help second-year international students successfully adapt to academic and campus life at Korea University.

1. Program Overview and Main Activities

A. Program Overview

  • Each mentor will be paired with one international student (second-year undergraduate student) from the College of Health Science and provide academic and daily-life support throughout the semester.
  • Mentees are able to communicate in at least one of the following languages: Korean or English.
  • Mentors and mentees will be matched within the same major whenever possible.

※ If no mentor is available from the relevant major, a mentor from a different major may be assigned.

B. Main Activities

  • Academic and campus life support, including:
    • Course registration and academic planning
    • Academic administration and university policies
    • Graduation requirements
    • Information on campus life and student services
    • Guidance on utilizing university resources and support services

2. Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as a second-year student or above in one of the following:
    • School of Biosystems and Biomedical Science
    • School of Bioengineering
    • School of Health and Environmental Science
  • Be willing to serve as a supportive senior student and friend to international students, with an open and welcoming attitude toward diverse cultures and backgrounds.

3. Activity Period

  • Spring Semester 2025
  • Up to 4 hours per week
  • Approximately 10 weeks of mentoring activities

4. Benefits

Work Scholarship

  • Mentors will receive a work scholarship based on their recorded mentoring hours upon completion of the program.

※ Detailed information regarding eligible hours and payment rates will be announced separately.

※ Scholarship payments will be deposited directly into the student's personal bank account after the mentoring program concludes at the end of the semester. The payment is not applied as a tuition deduction.
