[Scholarship] KU Hope Scholarship Application Guidelines – College of Health Science

1. Purpose of the scholarship

This scholarship aims to support graduate students of the College of Health Science who demonstrate strong research ability and academic performance but are facing financial difficulties, thereby alleviating financial burden and enhancing research capacity.

2. Eligibility and award criteria

a. Eligible applicants: Enrolled general graduate students in the College of Health Science (as of December 2025; students on leave of absence or in completion status are not eligible)

b. Scholarship amount: KRW 1,500,000 (living expense support), 8 recipients will be selected

c. Academic requirement: Overall GPA of 3.80 or higher on a 4.50 scale

d. Priority selection:
Applicants who submit supporting documents for priority consideration will be given preference.

• Required documents (for priority consideration):
  Certificate of basic livelihood recipient, certificate of near-poor/low-income status, single-parent family certificate, self-sufficiency work participant certificate, priority support low-income certificate, reduced copayment beneficiary certificate, etc.

3. Submission method

a. Submission location: After obtaining the signature of your academic advisor, submit to the College of Health Science Administration Team (Hana Science Hall, Room 153)

b. Submission period: November 5, 2025 (Wed) – November 28, 2025 (Fri), 15:00

4. Required documents

a. Scholarship application form (Attachment 1)
b. Advisor recommendation letter (Attachment 2)
c. Certificate of enrollment
d. Resident registration certificate
e. Scholarship benefit history certificate

How to obtain scholarship benefit history certificate:

• Go to Korea University certificate issuance site (https://kucert.korea.ac.kr)

• Log in with portal ID/PW

• Select certificate issuance → apply

• Select institution information

• Choose Korean application form → select “No scholarship receipt certificate”

• Confirm all years → payment → print

f. Research funding receipt history certificate

• Go to RMS research portal (rms.korea.ac.kr)

• Research projects → inquiry & application → participation & stipend inquiry

• Select payment period (from admission to present)

• Capture and print screen including payment details

g. Additional income/financial documents (if applicable):
Same as listed above under priority selection documents

5. Selection process

a. Recommendation by academic advisor (students with strong research and academic performance but financial need)
b. Recommendation by department chair (prioritized per department)
c. Final selection by scholarship committee based on submitted documents and recommendations
