The School investigates the fundamental nature of biological phenomena at microscopic and analytical levels such as cells and molecules. Based on this, it conducts research on biological diversity, identification of disease-causing factors influenced by genetic and environmental factors, biomarker-based diagnostics, and the development of drugs and cell therapies. It also strives to innovate advanced biohealth industry platforms through convergence with key Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence.

In addition, by organically integrating majors in basic biomedical sciences and interdisciplinary medical sciences, the School is well-suited for a multi-major system. It offers prospective students interested in biology and chemistry, as well as currently enrolled students from integrated academic tracks, the opportunity to explore the diverse and in-depth world of medical science.

Established in 2014 at the Anam Science and Engineering Campus, the School has become one of the leading biomedical science programs in Korea. It operates a curriculum that integrates basic biomedical sciences with interdisciplinary medical sciences, and is dedicated to cultivating innovative, interdisciplinary thinkers who will lead advanced biomedical industries and emerging fields. The School also strives to develop creative, forward-thinking problem solvers who can anticipate and address future challenges.
