Regulations on Sub-Majors

Enacted on January 19, 2015
< Academic Affairs Office, College of Health Science >

Section Content
Article 1 (Purpose) These regulations aim to define matters related to sub-majors within the School of Biosystems and Biomedical Sciences and the School of Health and Environmental Science, College of Health Science.
Article 2 (Quota) No separate quota is assigned for sub-majors.
Article 3 (Designation) ① Sub-majors in the School of Biosystems and Biomedical Sciences are designated as “Biomedical Science” and “Biofood and Medical Science”. ② Sub-majors in the School of Health and Environmental Science are designated as “Environmental Health Safety” and “Health and Medical Science.”
Article 4 (Eligibility) Available to students in the departments listed above who are in advanced major tracks, double majors, or transfer students.
Article 5 (Application Limit) Eligible students may apply for a sub-major only once during the designated period. Failure to apply within the period means that even advanced major students cannot have a sub-major officially recorded.
Article 6 (Application Period) Applications must be submitted individually at the beginning of the final semester, and processed collectively by the department.
Article 7 (Credit Requirement) At least 36 credits in the relevant sub-major area must be completed to have the sub-major officially recognized.
Article 8 (Declaration of Sub-major) Even advanced major students who do not apply will have only the department name recorded. Even if courses from multiple sub-majors are completed, only one sub-major may be declared.
Article 9 (Certificates) Sub-major information will be included in graduation certificates and expected graduation certificates.
Article 10 (Others) Any matters not specified in these regulations may be determined separately by departmental rules.
Addenda (Enforcement Date) These regulations apply to graduates starting from August 2016.
